DENVER – In celebration of its 85th event season, Red Rocks Amphitheatre today announced the launch of a sweeping storytelling campaign that pays tribute to the venue’s extraordinary history while placing fans and attendees at the heart of the celebration.

The campaign launches with the first installment of a new video series chronicling the Red Rocks story. The opening video shared today details the venue’s origins — from the Walker family's vision to attract visitors to their newly acquired land in the Rocky Mountain foothills, to the Civilian Conservation Corps' five-year transformation of that land into the beloved amphitheater it is today. The video situates Red Rocks within modern American history, framing its construction as part of the nation's broader effort to recover from the Great Depression.

This storytelling campaign is complimented by an invitation for fans to share their own Red Rocks memories through online submissions, as well as a series of in-person activations in partnership with History Colorado and the Barter Collective throughout the summer.

“There’s no better way to celebrate 85 years of Red Rocks than to highlight what makes it so special to the concertgoers who return year after year,” said Brian Kitts, Red Rocks spokesman. “Whether it was a bucket list show you finally checked off your list, a unique encounter with wildlife or dancing in the snow on an April night, we can’t wait to hear from and celebrate with you all season long.”

Fans are invited to submit their Red Rocks story through a new landing page on the venue’s website, or in person at the Red Rocks Upper North Lot on June 15, July 8, July 10 and Sept. 11. Selected stories will be featured across Red Rocks’ social media channels and preserved in the venue’s archives.

Stories about the venue’s history from fans, artists and industry workers will be shared as the season progresses across Red Rocks’ social media and at www.redrocksonline.com/85th-anniversary.

Red Rocks attendees can also watch out for other special events and partner promotions throughout the season, including nightly excitement from venue partners like Coca-Cola, Toyota, HCA HealthONE, Birdcall, Gin & Juice by Dre and Snoop, Huckleberry Roasters, Wings Credit Union, Red Bull and more.
