✨ Step Into the Magic of The 5 Points Nutcracker: A Holiday Jazz Experience ✨
This holiday season, rediscover a timeless classic through the heart and history of Denver’s legendary 5 Points neighborhood. The 5 Points Nutcracker: A Holiday Jazz Experience returns December 26–28 at The Savoy Denver, directed by Larea Edwards with musical direction by jazz powerhouse Tenia Nelson and support from an all-star band of local jazz legends.
Wander the halls and hidden staircases of The Savoy as this immersive retelling blends ballet, swing, breakdance and contemporary movement with the iconic 1960 Duke Ellington & Billy Strayhorn jazz arrangement of The Nutcracker. Featuring choreography by Constance Harris (Raw Grooves) and award-winning movement artist Moon, this year’s production honors the cultural vibrancy, legacy and legends of historic 5 Points—once known as “The Harlem of the West.”
Expect dazzling visuals, dynamic storytelling and live music from an all-star lineup of local jazz artists. Supported by Denver Arts & Venues, the Eulipions Fund, City of Fort Collins, Colorado Creative Industries, RiNo Art District, Bonfils-Stanton Foundation, and Bohemian Foundation, this show promises an unforgettable holiday experience for all ages.
