Event Details
As part of our Equity, Diversity & Inclusion work, we present a discussion on integrating anti-racism into your organizational structure.
Please join Denver Arts & Venues for the tenth installment of the “How to Be an Anti-Racist Organization with Dwinita and Tariana” speaker series. We continue to discuss the necessary work organizations must commit to in order to be anti-racist with a focus on tactical and actionable steps.
This FREE virtual, moderated discussion with Tariana Navas-Nieves – Denver Arts & Venues, Director, Cultural Affairs and Dwinita Mosby-Tyler – Chief Catalyst, The Equity Project LLC, will be hosted on Zoom - a link will be provided to participants in early July (or upon registration if registration occurs in July). Please register online for instructions on how to join.
In preparation for the session, participants are encouraged to view the recordings from our previous events centered on equity, anti-racism and accessibility work located here.
Central topics for our upcoming discussion:
- What is bias
- What types of bias can show up and impact our work
- Types of power
- How bias and power can impact your ability to lead well more inclusive and equitable environments
Feedback from past attendees on the “How to Be an Anti-Racist Organization with Dwinita and Tariana” series:
I attended the anti-racist webinar last week and I took so much away. Tariana, you and Dwinita did a fantastic job and I appreciate the way in which you both spoke so freely and respectfully about such critical topics.
Weeks back, I got caught up on all the episodes of 'How to Be An Antiracist Organization'. I took many, many, many notes. Thanks for sharing information that we can actually implement.
I loved your webinar, Tariana and Dwinita. Truly loved it.
Thanks for making these sessions so accessible. You address many of the questions we are often afraid to ask and you do it with so much wisdom and kindness.
This event focuses on:
Accessibility: Arts, culture and creativity are truly inclusive and accessible for all.
