Description
Celebrate and learn about the Mexican holiday Día de los Muertos with the Colorado Symphony in a festive, multicultural concert for families filled with music, storytelling, and color. Featuring a narrated story and vocal performances this celebration invites audiences of all ages to explore how we remember and honor loved ones through music. From spooky-fun favorites like The Nightmare Before Christmas and The Addams Family to beloved selections from Coco, and Márquez’s electrifying Danzón No. 2, this joyful program brings remembrance to life through sound.
Family Series concerts are specifically curated for families with young children. These programs are shorter than typical symphony performances, and last 45-60 minutes including intermission.
Join us for HalfNotes, our family-friendly pre-concert activities starting at 1:00 PM. Explore an immersive outdoor art exhibit in the Galleria, presented by Catrinas en Mi Ciudad. Then head inside to the Bach Room for hands-on crafts, including creating your own marigolds and papel picados and decorating La Catrina and El Catrín. Plus, featured artists from ArtistiCO will lead fun, introductory dance lessons for all ages!
