2023-2024 GRANTEES

Working with Human Rights & Community Partnerships, Denver Arts & Venues provided $110,000 through the EDI Arts & Culture fund to the following grantees.

Adaptive Adventures

In partnership with: Denver Commission for People with Disabilities
Funding: $5,000

EDI Arts & Culture funds will be used to support "Storytelling - Freedom Through Mobility", a video project telling personal stories of individuals experiences of adaptive recreation. 

Asian Girls Ignite

In partnership with: Denver Women’s Commission
Funding: $5,000

The EDI Arts & Culture funds will be used to sponsor exhibiting and performing artists at the ElevAsian Night Market in August 2024.

Black Pride (DBA Youth Seen)

In partnership with: Denver Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender & Queer Commission (LGBTQ) Commission
Funding: $5,000

Sponsorship funds will support film screenings of LGBTQI+BIPocC focused films in the community during Pride week and for drag performances during the Queer Cookout.

Chicano Humanities and Arts Council, Inc. (CHAC)

In partnership with: Denver Latino Commission
Funding: $5,000

Sponsorship funding will support renovations of the building to include an accessible bathroom to provide equitable facilities for gallery visitors, local artists, and the creative community.

Colorado African Cultural Center

In partnership with: Denver Immigrant and Refugee Commission
Funding: $5,000

Funds will be used to support the Colorado African Cultural Center's creative and performing arts programs.

Colorado Asian Pacific United

In partnership with: Denver Asian American Pacific Islander Commission

Funds will be used to support the Fatherhood 2.0 program, providing regalia and hand drum making workshops for families.

Sponsorship funds will be used to support the Big Queer, Little Queer mentorship program which explores storytelling through various artistic media including poetry, writing, and card making.

Funds will be used to support an intergenerational art and story-telling program in partnership with Access Gallery.

Funds will be used to support the "I Arise" theater project, telling the stories of women from diverse backgrounds.

Sand Creek Regional Greenway Partnership

Funds will be used to support the creation of a community mural along the Greenway, in collaboration with the be well Youth Council.

The Red Road Project

In partnership with: Denver American Indian Commission
Funding: $5,000

Sponsorship funds will be used to create a public mural with Native American youth on a social justice theme.

Urban Leadership Foundation

In partnership with: Denver Immigrant and Refugee Commission

EDI Arts & Culture sponsorship funding will be used to support a community discussion about the importance of African cultural heritage through the lens of African sculpture, jewelry, religious and ceremonial objects, and their impact on contemporary African American culture.
