Wil Swindler's Elevenet: Performing the Music of Billie Eilish

Composer Wil Swindler brings his Elevenet to Dazzle on Aug 24, 2024 premiering an entirely new set of Swindler’s unique arrangements of the music of Billie Eilish. Following up on their 2023 success, as the album Space Bugs (OA2 Records) received a 4-star review and was voted one of the top Jazz releases for the year in Downbeat Magazine, the Elevenet presents their next artistic endeavor with a daring exploration of Eilish’s music in a modern jazz context. Swindler has a history of taking on projects like this with his Beatles collection concerts and the Anti-Pop Divas show (the music of Bjork and Regina Spektor). This concert continues the thread of bringing contemporary music into a modern Jazz setting, frequently in a direct translation, but sometimes through a complete deconstruction of the subject. Concert goers will hear Billie Eilish's music as it's never been played before.

This unique ensemble, inspired by the music of Gil Evans in a 21st-century setting always presents a carefully curated set performed by Denver’s most highly-skilled musicians and improvisers. In addition to his many accolades as a composer and long career creating modern Jazz art-music around the world, Wil Swindler is the winner of the 2008 Gil Evans Fellowship.
