Performances by Red Feather Woman and Verena Fuentes

Join the Bob Ragland branch every month for LoUD (Library of Unity & Diversity), a free community-centered music and performance series for all ages! This family friendly series is supported by Denver Arts & Venues’ Denver Music Advancement Fund.  

November's performance and workshop features storytelling by Red Feather Woman, Verena Fuentes, and workshop led by Charmaine from Casa Brewja.  Drinks and food are available for free during the event!* While supplies last.

Rose Red Elk, known as Red Feather Woman, is a Native American entertainer, storyteller, singer, and author from Montana. She promotes peace and unity through her music and performances worldwide.

More about Verena Fuentes:

Introducing Verena, a talented Mexican singer/songwriter hailing from Mexico City and now based in Denver, CO. Verena’s music is a powerful and emotive blend of contemporary pop, R&B, and neo-soul, infused with her Latin American roots. With her lyrics, Verena courageously tackles themes of vulnerability, authenticity, and the complexities of the human experience, particularly as a woman, POC, a friend, a daughter, a partner. She strives to use her platform to give voice to her own experiences and those of others like her, making her music both relatable and meaningful. More about the Día de Muertos workshop with Charmaine:

At this special Dia de Los Muertos event, participants gather to create intricate and heartfelt little plant altars, known as ofrendas, to honor and remember their loved ones who have passed away. The event is filled with a sense of reverence and creativity as individuals bring various plants, colorful marigolds, candles, photographs, and cherished mementos to construct their altars. The atmosphere is vibrant and lively, filled with the sounds of traditional music. People share stories and memories, creating a sense of unity and connection as they pay homage to their ancestors and celebrate their lives through these beautiful displays. While supplies last.
