Join us for a free cyanotype (sun print) workshop led by mixed media artist Christine Nguyen on August 23rd at Congress Park! Christine recently completed three public artworks (animal sculptures) in Congress Park, and we’re hosting a workshop to celebrate.
The new sculptures have beautiful textures composed of painted and stenciled collected vegetation. Christine often uses plant and animal life, printed textures, and cyanotypes in her creative process. Come celebrate the new artworks and create cyanotype prints of your own!
Cyanotype is an early photographic technique that uses sunlight and water to create vivid, blue prints. By placing objects—such as leaves, flowers, or small personal items—on special light-sensitive paper, participants can create their own unique, one-of-a-kind images. All materials will be provided, but you're welcome to bring small objects you'd like to include in your print.
