Join Cleo Parker Robinson Dance (CPRD) as we launch our 55th season at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House with Bolero—a classical and vibrant work choreographed by Christopher Huggins, set to Maurice Ravel’s iconic score. Huggins’ work explores dynamic relationships through partnering. With a captivating set design and beautiful partner work, this passionate piece is a radiant mixture of ballet and contemporary movement.
This milestone season also premieres a powerful duet by Lisa Johnson-Willingham, a CPRDE Alumna and current Director of the Ailey Extension. The evening continues with our signature work, Raindance by Milton Myers, performed by our current ensemble and guest alumni, along with a special appearance by the Dayton Contemporary Dance Company, performing a work by CPRD’s Associate Artistic Director, Winifred R. Harris, now in its second staging.
As we celebrate 55 years of artistry, legacy, and community, this evening serves as both a homecoming for respected artists who are part of our CPRD history, and a testament to how our vision continues to thrive. A celebration of movement, music, and universal artistry, this performance welcomes audiences of all ages.
