Sample Emergency Plans
Planning for emergencies is vital for the survival of performing arts organizations. These sample plans are made available for organizations to use as models for their own plans. While the content and structure of these samples may not exactly match your organization’s needs, you may find it valuable to use elements from several to help develop your plan.

DenverREADY approach allows residents, neighborhoods, local officials, businesses, non-profits, faith-based organizations, and emergency management officials to collectively understand and assess the needs of their respective communities, determine the best ways to organize their resources, and prepare for emergency events. Denver has embraced the “Whole Community Preparedness Programs” concept and invites our community partners to help build a stronger, more resilient community.

National Coalition for Arts’ Preparedness and Emergency Response
National Coalition for Arts’ Preparedness and Emergency Response published the Cultural Placekeeping Guide in June 2017 as a way to introduce a network-building approach, called “cultural placekeeping,” for both safeguarding and strengthening local arts and culture communities. Organizing a self-help emergency action network to supplement and coordinate with the existing disaster management system is a way to foster community cohesion and connectedness—important generally and invaluable when a crisis strikes.
