'Red Rocks Live' Album
Highlights from some of Red Rocks Amphitheatre’s long history are heard on the new “Red Rocks Live” compilation released by Denver Arts & Venues this week. Originally conceived to celebrate the venue’s 75th anniversary in 2015, the project grew to include tracks from as early as early as 1978 (“Ship of Fools” by The Grateful Dead) to tracks up to the anniversary season.
“Red Rocks is such an iconic venue that every night produces a classic show,” said Red Rocks marketing director Brian Kitts. “The 20 tracks on ‘Red Rocks Live’ represent a tiny sample from some really unique concerts.
“It’s by no means an exhaustive history. There are some cool tracks from great Colorado bands. Some of the artists featured are joining us again this season, and some voices we can now only hear on record,” Kitts continued. “We’re extremely grateful to the artists represented for allowing us to go back to their special time at Red Rocks.”
The three-LP limited edition vinyl collection is available for $55 at the Red Rocks Trading Post and Visitor Center while supplies last. “Red Rocks Live” also can be ordered online at redrocksonline.com and it is available in a digital format on iTunes, Amazon and other online outlets.
