IMAGINE 2020 Fund recipients announced

Denver Arts & Venues and the Denver Commission on Cultural Affairs are excited to reveal the 2017 IMAGINE 2020 Fund recipients. 

The IMAGINE 2020 Fund, in its third year, provides up to $5,000 in funding support for new, creative and innovative programs inspired by one or more of the seven vision elements outlined in IMAGINE 2020, Denver’s Cultural Plan. Funded projects further develop Denver’s creative landscape and bring Denver’s collective vision a reality. 

The seven vision elements are Integration, Amplification, Accessibility, Lifelong Learning, Local Talent, Economic Vitality and Collective Leadership.

In 2017, Denver Arts & Venues and the Denver Commission on Cultural Affairs will distribute $75,000 in funding for programs taking place in the calendar years 2017-18. More than 40 applications were submitted, with 19 recipients selected.

  2. Art from Ashes - Creative Time Workshops - $5,000
  3. Arthyve - Artists for Archives - $5,000
  4. Athena Project - Cross Pollinations: A 24hr Women’s Collaborative Artistic Action - $2,500
  5. Colorado Dragon Boat Festival - Colorado Dragon Film Festival - $2,500
  6. Colorado Photographic Arts Center - Veterans Workshop Series - $2,500
  7. Curious Theatre Company - Plays as Platforms: Issue-Focused Theatre for Denver’s Neighborhoods and Youth - $2,500
  8. Denver Public Library - Podcaster in Residence at DPL - $5,000
  9. Denver Young Artists Orchestra - Denver Women in Music Symposium - $2,500
  10. ImaginASL Performing Arts - “The Reluctant Dragon” Play with Facilitated Discussion - $5,000
  11. Lisa Engelkein - Breaking Barriers - $3,950
  12. Loco Lane Filmworks - Document Ed. -- a documentary film - $4,850
  13. Mirror Image Arts - "This Belongs to Us" - $5,000
  14. MSU Denver Foundation - Creative Industries Internship - $5,000
  15. Phamaly Theatre Company - Accessible Site-Specific Theatre Production - $5,000
  16. razalas studios, Daniel Salazar - Movimiento Elders - $5,000
  17. RedLine - "Latin America: Endless Transformation" Exhibition and Community Program Series - $3,200
  18. Swallow Hill - Sensory Friendly Concerts at Swallow Hill Music - $3,000
  19. Youth Employment Academy - Arts Street We Still Live: Youth exploring positive identity through the arts - $5,000
