Denver Arts & Venues accepting 2018 P.S. You Are Here funding applications
Denver Arts & Venues is now accepting applications for 2018 P.S. You Are Here (PSYAH) funding opportunities through 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19.
Now in its fifth year, PSYAH is a citywide creative placemaking and neighborhood revitalization initiative that cultivates collaborative, community-led outdoor projects in Denver’s public spaces.
In 2018, PSYAH will fund at least $70,000 in grants. Applicants can request up to $10,000 in funding per project. Grants must be matched 1:1 by applicants through cash or in-kind contributions -- goods or services -- or volunteer time. PSYAH funds help support creative, short-term physical improvement projects that aim to transform the city’s underutilized urban spaces to increase collaboration, honor heritage, build civic engagement, beautify neighborhoods, enrich communities, and inspire long-term change.
“Not only do P.S. You Are Here and other IMAGINE 2020 projects bring creativity and culture right into the daily lives of Denver residents and visitors, but these projects also connect neighbors and community members by making art more accessible,” Mayor Michael B. Hancock said.
PSYAH is a program of IMAGINE 2020, Denver’s community-based cultural plan that presents strategic vision and implementation support for arts, culture and creativity contributing significantly to the city’s economy and quality of life.
In 2017 PSYAH funded eight groups in Denver including Balfour Senior Living at Riverfront Park, Birdseed Collective, Broadway Partnership, Walk Denver, Black Cube, South Pearl Street Association, RedLine Contemporary Art Center and Thomas Jefferson High School.
